André-Pierre du Plessis

André-Pierre was born in Kempton Park, South Africa. After completing school at Paul Roos Gymnasium, he obtained a bachelor of arts, honors in journalism (cum laude) and masters in journalism from Stellenbosch University.

Since then, he worked in editorial and managerial positions at Media24 in Cape Town. In 2009 he created Tech Report, a tech-news TV show broadcast on eNCA, South Africa's first 24-hour news channel, for whom he also worked as news reporter.

Graduating from Columbia University with a masters degree in business and economics journalism, André-Pierre became social media editor for The Big Roundtable.com before joining Bloomberg LP as TV producer for its global broadcasting operations.

In 2015 he joined Turkey's first English-language media venture, TRT World, as on-air TV reporter.

He currently lives in New York City working as a freelance journalist.
