André-Pierre du Plessis

André-Pierre was born in Kempton Park, South Africa, grew up in Harrismith and matriculated from Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch. He completed the BA (Humanities), BPhil (Journalism) Cum Laude and MPhil (Journalism) degrees at Stellenbosch University.

Since then, he has worked on both the editorial and managerial side of newspapers and magazines at Media24 in Cape Town. More recently he co-created and produced Tech Report, a TV show focusing on technology-news broadcast on eNCA for whom he also worked as news reporter.

André-Pierre completed a Master of Arts in Business and Economics Journalism at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. After graduation he worked as social media editor for the startup Big and later as TV producer for Bloomberg Media's global broadcasting operations.

In 2015 he joined Turkey's first English-language media venture, TRT World, working as senior producer on global business news as an on-air TV reporter.
